I started working with Annie at the very beginning of my career and she gave me a lot of the tools to create an honest character and performance as well as the confidence to know that I can do this. I always felt I was free and safe to fall on my face over and over again until I gained the courage to be free and in the moment with the character we were creating. She was a big champ in my corner. I think having positive and constructive support like that in the early days of your career are vital to your growth as an actor.

After auditioning in Los Angeles for many years, I thought I was pretty good at it. And then I started coaching with Annie. The difference is night and day! I used to feel a little unsure of myself when it came to auditioning. Now, I feel so confident when I leave her studio, I can’t wait to audition! Annie makes it fun, and she’s so tuned in to what you need to do in the room, she’s simply an amazing acting coach . Not only did I book the first role she coached me on, but my bookings have doubled since working with her! That says it all for me!

Before starting with Annie, i was always nervous about auditioning. After only a few classes, i already noticed a difference. My whole approach to auditioning was different. She gave me some great techniques and constructive feedback, which gave me the confidence to walk into a casting room and not think about anything but the character. I very rarely used to get call backs, but after working with Annie, i would get called back on almost every audition i went on. I have audited a number of classes and nothing compared to the realism of Annie’s. Its so practical and gives you all the tools you need in order to book the job. After only a month with Annie, i signed with one of the top agents and booked a recurring role on One Tree Hill. - Mitch Ryan, recurring on One Tree Hill

The best and most sincere endorsement that I can give Annie Grindlay is the simple truth: I recently booked a series regular role on SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand, a guest star spot on CHUCK and the lead in the web series THE RESISTANCE and in my honest opinion a large part of this is due to the confidence, training and guidance which she has given me. Through her classes I learned how to quickly see the writers intention for a character, envision the life surrounding the scene, how to add in my own unique personality and finally bring that world to life. Coaching with her always gives me the confidence to walk in, nail my audition and in the end book jobs. She is a razor sharp woman who has an uncanny knack of figuring out what makes an actor tick and then showing them how to use it to his or her advantage. Annie is an amazing acting coach and a beautiful person. I highly recommend her to anyone who is serious about the art and profession of their acting.

Unfortunately I can’t wave my arms and jump up and down and say “Dude!” “Dude!” “Amazing!” over and over again in a written testimonial…but, frankly, that would be the most honest testimonial I could give. If it wasn’t for Annie, I probably wouldn’t be working. From the first time I had the privilege of being taught by her (seven years ago) to this day, I haven’t stopped. Annie understands the art of acting in the profoundest ways. And, just as importantly, she understands booking the job, in the shrewdest ways. So confident am I in Annie Grindlay that I have personally recommended – no – insisted on – working with her to every actor I have ever met in my business. And year after year I have watched everyone who was smart enough to heed my advice, bloom into the actors they always wished themselves to be. This woman is a miracle. Do yourself a favor and show up. I’m sure, that in the great, lost, secret language of the universe, “Annie Grindlay” is an anagram of “baddass awesome rockstar of all that is awesome.” Annie, please, never stop.

I have not only learned with Annie to trust who I am, but who I am becoming: not an actor, but a creative being. Her approach with me is always about mutual care and partnership. She instinctively understands characters at their heart and how to work one’s imagination in a unique, personal manner. I always come out of Annie’s studio feeling both more alive and truer to myself. I have only words of the deepest trust and admiration concerning Annie Grindlay; she has changed my work, and made it my life.

After 20 years in the business, auditioning was still nerve racking and booking random as a lightning strike. Annie helped me remove the fear from the audition process and find what works and doesn’t work for me “in the room”. A tremendous change.

Annie is a wonderful teacher who is kind, compassionate, and direct. When I first started working with Annie my preparation had grown a little stale and predictable. In just a short time she helped me rediscover the joys of acting. Her goal is never to show you how the “conversation” should be done but instead she gives you the tools to create a layered, specific, and unique experience. In an industry where so much is out of our control she really helps you focus and capitalize on the things that are in you control, namely your experience in the scene. She really helps you to use your imagination as an actor. She helps you develop the skills so you are not an actor walking into a room performing a scene but instead you are a person who is living and experiencing. I plan on using Annie’s gifts as a teacher for a long time to come, my only complaint is that I didn’t find her sooner!

Annie is an amazing coach! She’s taught me how to draw out the depth and meaning of every character. Not “acting” it out but staying true to the story and making it very natural and real. I booked a lead role in the independent film “Boggy Creek” and also a recurring guest star role on ABC Family’s “Lincoln Heights” coaching with Annie. She has helped me grow tremendously as an actress and I’m so grateful to have found such an awesome coach!
